Paula Allchorne

Psychosexual Nurse Specialist & Relationship Therapist

Paula Allchorne is a highly experienced Psychosexual Nurse Specialist and Relationship Therapist with over 28 years of clinical expertise in urology and sexual health. While her roots are in specialist nursing, her practice has evolved to focus deeply on the psychological and relational aspects of sexual wellbeing—working holistically across both mind and body.

Paula specialises in supporting individuals and couples of all genders through a wide range of psychosexual difficulties, including issues related to desire, arousal, orgasm, pain, intimacy, communication, sexual confidence, and body image. Her approach recognises that sexual concerns are often multifactorial—they may have physical, emotional, relational, or psychological components—and that true, lasting change often lies in addressing the full picture.

Her therapeutic style is warm, non-judgemental, and collaborative. Paula works with clients to co-create a tailored programme that meets their individual needs, whether they are navigating life changes, sexual dysfunction, relationship challenges, or simply want to reconnect with themselves or their partner.

She is part of the Sexual Health Special Interest Group (SIG) within the European Association of Urology Nurses (EAUN), having recently stepped down from her role as EAUN President. She continues to contribute internationally to the advancement of sexual health education and standards of care.

Paula’s practice blends the clinical with the therapeutic. Many clients come to her thinking their concern is purely "medical"—yet often, it’s emotional or relational in nature, or a combination of both. Her unique background allows her to confidently bridge the gap between physical health and psychological wellbeing, offering integrated support that empowers clients to understand and manage their concerns with greater clarity and confidence.

In recognition of her outstanding contribution to nursing, leadership, and transformative healthcare change, Paula was recently awarded the Chief Nursing Officer’s Gold Award—the highest professional accolade in nursing.

She also provides psychosexual and relationship support as part of a world-leading multidisciplinary Klinefelter Syndrome clinic, working closely with patients and families on highly sensitive and individualised care.

Alongside her clinical work, Paula holds an Executive MBA in Healthcare (2013) and has won 13 national awards for service innovation, leadership, and patient experience. Her reputation for compassionate care, specialist expertise, and patient-centred innovation makes her one of the UK’s most respected voices in urology nursing and psychosexual therapy.
